As Christians, we need the Holy Spirit because He teaches us how to love God more, and how to abide by His commandments. He gives us strength and courage to love Him.
Before Jesus ascended to heaven, he promised his disciples that he would send to them a helper who would convict the world of guilt.
The Holy Spirit makes us aware of God’s standard of righteousness in Christ, shows us what sin is, and gives us the power to overcome the world. So important that he works not only towards the unsaved but also operates in believers and the church to,

- Correct
- Guide them to the truth

The Holy Spirit exposes sin, and unbelief hence awakening the consciousness of guilt and the need for forgiveness. The Holy Spirit brings to us the awareness of our thoughts and the world around us which leads to repentance and accepting Jesus as our lord and savior.
Through him, Jesus returns to us to disclose his love, grace, and personal fellowship.
